False eyelashes have become a huge trend in 2009 and now it’s must have for 2010! A number of celebrities have been photographed wearing fake eye lashes, among them: Pop star Lady Gaga (Get her look), model Agyness Deyn and X-Factor star Cheryl Cole. “Celebrity endorsement has really helped move this trend in the past few months, especially as party season approaches,” says Jenni Middleton, editor of Professional Beauty magazine. She added, “People can opt for either individual or strips of false eyelashes to enhance what they already have and add a touch of glamour to party ensembles.”
Glamour up this season! Here’s How To Apply:
1. What look are you seeking? Choose a full set of false eyelashes in any design to create a high dramatic look to any evening appearance. Little clumps of fake lashes on the outside corners of your eyes create a subtle, sophisticated glamour.
2. Color: Complement any occasion with darker tones. Stick to black during the evening (or dark brown if you have pale lashes). It adds drama without requiring mascara. In the daytime, go dark brown (light brown or blond if you have pale lashes) for a natural look.
3. Check length: Full lashes should follow the natural line of your own lashes. Trim them with sharp scissors to accommodate your needs.
4. Begin with clean eyes. Free all makeup and debris.
5. Hold the lashes in your hand and apply a very thin line of glue or adhesive along the base; let it sit for 1 minute. Begin with a minimal amount of glue, adding more if needed.
6. Look into a mirror, either on the wall or placed on a countertop. Apply the false lashes above your eyelashes, as close to your lash line as possible, following its natural curve.
7. Adjust the lashes with your fingertips, tweezers or a toothpick. Press from end to end and hold until the glue dries (30 seconds to a minute, or sometimes less depending upon the adhesive). This allows the glue to set so that when you lift your fingertips from it, the lashes won’t come along for the ride.
8. If you’re using lash clumps, place them at the outside corners of your upper lashes (one or two per eye should suffice). Adjust their position with a toothpick, fingers or tweezers.
9. Apply eye makeup: You may find your new lashes dramatic enough without mascara, so take a good look in the mirror first.
10. Practice a few times first. It may take some time to perfect your look. Now your set to look your best!
Should you prefer to stick with your own eyelashes, you could boost their growth with Fusion Beauty LashFusion XL Micro-Technology Instant Lash Volumizer!

Don’t you wish that instead of getting candy on Halloween, you could trick or treat for beauty products? Imagine coming home with all kinds of eye shadows, lip glosses and creams that you and your friends could trade—how much fun would that be? Below are a list of beauty tricks that will make you frightened!
Nails:

Go the extra mile this Halloween and make a statement with one of the four ghostly and ghastly OPI polishes in the Glow Out Nail Collection. These mini-sized haunting hues are bright and bold—and one of the colors even glows in the dark!

Inside the package you’ll also find 30 bat and moon decals perfect for creating your own unique nail look. The colors included are:

Jack’s Back – A jack-o-lantern orange experience.
Boo-Berry – A glow-in-the-dark blue!
Witch Way – You won’t go wrong with witch-hat black
Cool Ghoul – Be the hottest ghost in town!

Why Makeup?
Masks can be an uncomfortable and difficult part of a costume, especially for children. Kids cannot see very well when trick or treating, which can quickly become a hazard as darkness approaches and they are running around the streets. Even if you are not a child, a mask can be hot and constricting, especially at a party or while trying to consume those favorite Halloween treats!

Halloween makeup is the best solution as you can easily remain in disguise without the hassle of a mask. Makeup also transforms your face and body into the character you are trying to portray, instead of simply feeling like you are wearing a costume.

Tips:

1. Buy face paint or make your own.
2. Always try out the look before the big night or event, experiment to see what you like.
3. Once your makeup is complete, cover entirely with powder to minimize smearing.
4. Always wash your face first and dry completely.
5. For oily skin, apply astringent – witch hazel is a good choice – to help makeup stay better on greasy skin.
6. Always tie hair back when applying makeup.
7. Sit down in front of a counter or table with a mirror and spread out all your tools and makeup.
8. Wrap an old towel around shoulders and neck.
9. Test for allergies on the inside of your wrist a couple days before applying makeup to the entire face.
10. Never use real paint, only products specifically designed for use on your skin.
11. With children, sit down and solicit their help in designing their Halloween makeup. Even draw the designs on paper to be sure you have exactly what they are looking for. It is also important to completely avoid the eye area with children, as they tend to rub and touch their face often.

Specific Halloween Makeup Techniques:

1. Use feathers or sponges as a paintbrush for a various effects.
2. White glue and corn syrup as safe adhesives.
3. Mix makeup or paint colors to find the perfect shade for the look you want.
4. When trying to emulate a particular creature or person, scrutinize a picture and look for specific identifying features to highlight in your Halloween makeup costume.

Basic Halloween Makeup Special Effects Tips

Wounds: When it comes to making special effects wounds, pictures speak louder than words. Here is a very detailed tutorial that results in a very real, very graphic laceration. Not for the faint of heart. You can find another wrist wound here.

Blood: Depending on how and where you want to use the fake blood, this could be as simple as buying some gel blood and letting it ooze down your skin. See the tutorial above for ways to paint it around actual special effects gashes or wounds. If you plan to put the blood in or around your mouth, consider making your own with this tutorial.

Teeth: In most cases, you can just go out and buy the teeth you want. If the teeth are to be drawn on your skin (skeleton makeup, for example), you can check specific makeup tutorials for tips. In most cases, you’ll be painting white cream makeup onto your skin and outlining the teeth with black liner. Want to make fangs for your vampire costume? Halloween Online Magazine can tell you how. The recipe takes a surprisingly small number of materials.

Ears: Want pointy ears? No problem. First, clean the top part of your ears with alcohol to remove any dirt or oil. Let that dry and then fold the ear to form a point. Use liquid latex as glue so the fold stays where you put it. Use spirit gum to match your skin tone and fill in the fold. Voila!

Wrinkles: They’re wrinkles, not zebra stripes, so don’t just draw then on with eyeliner and let them dry. You’ll need to smudge them out a little on either side to create a contoured, three-dimensional effect.

RevitaLash Cosmetic Eyelash Conditioner for Women

It all began because a husband wanted to give his wife a very special gift…”

The story:

RevitaLash was developed by Dr. Michael Brinkenhoff as a special gift for his wife, Gayle, while she was recovering from breast cancer. Intensive chemotherapy treatments had damaged Gayle’s once-beautiful eyelashes, leaving them sparse, breakable and fragile. After extensive research with a team of talented cosmetic chemists, Dr. Brinkenhoff formulated an eyelash conditioner that, after just a few weeks, gave a renewed look of vitality to Gayle’s eyelashes. Soon friends and family wanted to know Gayle’s secret to beautiful looking eyelashes. Gayle knew immediately the perfect name for the amazing eyelash conditioner that had given her eyelashes a renewed look of vitality: RevitaLash. Thus, a new product was born; and a formula created originally for just one special woman has become a product available to women everywhere who want to have beautiful looking eyelashes.

Often we feel helpless when someone we love is suffering. I am very fortunate, in my own small way, to have been able to help Gayle through her recovery. Watching her be excited about her beautiful looking eyelashes has been a real joy,” says Michael Brinkenhoff, M.D.

Now you achieve the beautiful look of longer, thicker, and fuller eyelashes! Within three to ten weeks, your own natural eyelashes will look Longer, Thicker, Fuller, and BEAUTIFUL! No matter how brittle, short, fragile, thin, or sparse your eye lashes are! (As stated on the official website)

Mascara Tips and Strategy: Eyelash Application for Women

Next to lipstick, mascara is your most effective makeup tool. It is a great eye opener that emphasizes the lashes. Mascara defines and brings color to the lashes, and highlights and dramatizes eyes. Different formulas can enhance your lashes in different ways. Using a proper application technique when applying mascara is extremely important to achieve a finished look. You must ensure that the mascara covers the lashes from the root to the tip of the lash.

To begin, you will need a mirror, mascara, and brow brush. Follow these tips to ensure proper mascara application:

1. Consider the types of mascara and select one appropriate for your lashes and the occasion. You have a choice of lengthening, thickening, long-wearing, conditioning and waterproof formulas, among others. For day, you might decide to add length, while a night on the town may require a long-wearing or thickening formula.

2. Select a color. If you have blond or red lashes, opt for brown mascara. Darker-lashed women can consider brown for a casual look, and black or brown-black for more pronounced or dramatic lashes.

3. Be sure to remove dried existing mascara before application. Be sure you have already applied the desired amount of eyeshadow before beginning. Mascara can often be pretty tricky. You don’t want clumps of sticky goo on your lashes.

4. Remove the wand from the tube in one pull. Pumping the mascara will push air into the tube, potentially drying out the formula and introducing bacteria into it.

5. Move from the inside of your lashes out, making sure not to miss any on the way. To be sure there will be no clumping, it is imperative to give the mascara wand a slight wiggle while moving towards the end of the lashes. This will give you the most length and fullness of your lashes. Follow this step until you have reached the desired look.

6. Be sure to apply more mascara to the lashes both top and bottom before the first layer dries. If you wait until they have dried, the mascara will begin to flake off and often will end up in your eyes, and will certainly give you a great amount of discomfort. Follow each step the same way with the other eye and you are on your way to much more detailed eyes.

7. Use an eyelash comb to separate the wet lashes. Also blot the lashes with tissue paper if necessary to remove excess mascara.

8. Use less mascara for the lower lashes. To apply, simply work from the outside in, or the opposite of the way you did on the top row. You don’t want to make your lashes look too overdone so when applying to the bottom row don’t cover all lashes, only the lashes towards the outer corner of the eye.

9. Remove any stray mascara around the eye with a cotton swab dipped in a small amount of eye makeup remover.

Remember these tips:

-If your mascara is too thick, it is probably time to buy a new tube. Thicker mascara is harder to apply and often gives your lashes the kind of spider look that isn’t too appealing.

-To further prevent clumping, when you apply your mascara, place the wand at the base of the eyelashes. Apply mascara with back-and-forth sawing motion. The bristles of the wand will separate lashes. This way, you’ll get mascara on each individual lash, instead of clumping five eyelashes together.

-You must check to see if the lash base is coated as close to the skin as possible, as this shows up the shape of the eye and makes the look very natural. If you want to give the impression of not having any makeup on, coat below the lower lashes with clear mascara only and then comb them with eyebrow brush/comb after application. If you want really thick lashes, coat the upper and lower lashes with clear mascara, comb them and then coat the upper and lower lashes as with black mascara.

-To give an extra long look to your lashes: once they dry, coat the tips of the lashes two or three times with black mascara, while also drying and separating the lashes between applications. If you want very long lashes, coat them from the top. To avoid clumps, dot the tip on a tissue paper and gently roll and then apply. You can also run an eyelash brush gently through the lashes. If you wear contact lenses, you might want to invest in a mascara safe for contacts.

-To apply a thin, but even coat (if you hate those clumps, this will probably work no matter what kind of mascara you have –this is how professional makeup artists apply it). Using one finger, gently lift the skin of your upper eyelid up, then with your other hand gently stroke the mascara wand through your lashes a few times, from the inner corner to the outer corner, going over the tips of your lashes more than the base.

Mascara Warnings!

-After using your mascara for about three to four months, you should throw it out even if it is still in good condition. With mascara being used so close to the eye, the wand could carry bacteria that you don’t want getting into your eye, causing infection and other nasty things.

-If you have recently had a communicable eye disease such as pink eye, immediately replace your mascara. There may be germs on the wand and you don’t want to risk them getting back on/in your eyes.

-If you do poke your eye, immediately rinse your eye with water.

-Some people have allergies to different colors, different brands and different types of mascara. If you find your eyes become irritated after using waterproof you may want to try a different type. The same is true with the other brands and colors.

-For sensitive eyes,Clear mascara especially with curled lashes can be great way to go. The look is cleaner, more natural and much easier to remove.

-Make sure you aren’t using a cheap/trashy brand. They are more likely to cause clumps. Try any mascara by Revtalash. (See Blog) It conditions lashes to their fullest, no clumps!

Lash Strategies: These simple mascara tips can give you long, thick, voluminous eyelashes that last all day every day.

1.Curl: The crimper curlers are the most popular. Remember, you can never, never, never use these once you have applied mascara. Otherwise you could do one of two things, chop your eyelashes off or pull them out. Either way, not good! The best way to use this kind of a curler is to get as close to the eyelash line as you can, crimp and count to five slowly. Move the curler out just slightly and crimp again, move with the angle of the eyelashes. Depending on the length of your lashes, do repeatedly until you have curled all the way out. Most people can do this 2-3 times.

2. Thicker Eyelashes: Holding your mascara in a horizontal position, apply your mascara at the base of the eyelash line and “wiggle” your brush all the way up to the top of the lashes.

3. Longer Eyelashes: Hold your brush in a vertical position, apply your mascara pulling the brush up, this will feel odd at first but it definitely works. If you need thicker and longer eyelashes, alternate steps 3 and 4, doing multiple coats. Just remember to take a minute and let the mascara dry in between so you don’t have a big mess.

4. Comb: A lot of inexpensive brush sets come with a plastic lash comb. Do yourself a favor, throw it away and find yourself a metal comb. This will straighten out any mascara mess you may have gotten yourself into. You don’t want tarantula leg eyelashes!

Beauty Tips for Women Over Age 40

Women are always interested in looking beautiful. Beauty during young age may not be a vital issue as youth has its own beauty. When this starts fading away, we tend to realize the importance of beauty in life. This is why aging women are found being even more alert about their beauty.

The fact is, a woman in her 40’s is much more interesting than a woman in her twenties. She is more seasoned, poised, confident and wise. You know what you want and your definatly not afraid to go get it. You have a more definite sense of style that is, if you allowed yourself to develop it. Sadly, many women simply let themselves go when they reach their 40s. They no longer bother to update their hairstyle and wardrobes. A woman in her 40s’ may think that because she is not getting any younger anymore, there is no longer any purpose to going out of her way to make herself look good.

Feel beautiful with these simple tips!

Eyes

Not everyone is born with the perfect face. If you asked your friends most of them would say they felt their eyes were too close together, too far apart, too squinty. Thankfully we live in a day where makeup can do all sorts of optical illusions. Here are a few simple techniques using eye shadow & eyeliner to create several illusions based on your needs.

1. Closer Together: Most eyes look better when the emphasis is on the outer corner of the eye (or the ‘v’). But emphasizing the inner corner will make eyes look closer together. Start by sweeping a light shadow over the whole eye area. Then dust a medium color on the inner half of the eyelid and blend outward to create a natural finish. Next, line from the inner corner of the eye to the middle & then blend outward.

2. Further Apart: If your eyes are less than an eyes-width apart, you can create the allusion of being wider set by keeping the inside corners of your eyes light and the outer edges darker. To do this, sweep a concealer one shade lighter than your skin at the inner corner of the lids. Blend well and don’t forget the gray shadowy areas on the side of your nose. Take a matte eyeshadow in a medium-to-dark shade and stroke it outward and slightly upward from the middle part of your lid to the outer half of your lid. Take eyeliner and start the line just a bit in from the inner corner of your eye, tapering the line up and out, just a bit past the outer corner of the eyes.

3. Bigger: The key to making eyes bigger is to focus on light shades. Dark ones will make eyes appear even smaller. Sweep a light shade over lid, then shade the outer corner of the lid and the crease with a darker shade. Line the outer upper and lower lids with eyeliner making sure to taper a bit outside the eye (elongating it). Lastly, a dab of white or cream shadow in the middle of the brow bone will make eyes pop. (A word of warning: make sure brows are perfectly plucked, otherwise stray hairs will stand out as if lit by lights).

4. Less Droopy: You can lift down-turned eyes with makeup. Apply shadow to the outer corner of the lid, extending color up and out like a feline shape. Add a light highlight color to brow bone and skip the eyeliner. It will only accentuate the ‘droopy’ contour. Apply mascara, concentrating on the inner corner of the eye. Lastly, you can try smudging a silver show on the inner corners of the eyes to help ‘lift’ them.

Skin

Baby your hands & feet! Hands and feet can suffer terribly in cold weather. Put on moisturizer and gloves BEFORE you head outdoors, and consider lathering up your feet in thick moisturizer and sleeping in cotton socks at night.

Stay hydrated but don’t go overboard. Many people believe if they drink more water, they’ll hydrate skin. It is a myth and you simply cannot moisturize skin from the inside out. That said, a small study recently published by the University of Hamburg (and reported in Allure magazine), suggests people who drink relatively little water could see a significant benefit in skin hydration if they started drinking nine eight-ounce glasses of water per day. What does this mean? Probably that dehydration does affect skin, but a normally hydrated person isn’t going to see major benefits by drinking even more water.

Hot water robs skin of moisture causing dry skin, so it’s best to shower in lukewarm water. The hot, hot temperature, combined with drying chemicals, is torture on dry skin. The same rule applies to hand-washing: Wash hands in lukewarm, never hot, water. If your skin turns red, the water is simply too hot.

To keep your skin feeling dewy and moist even in the harshest conditions, try CK One Electric Body Lotion by Calvin Klein. It’s vibrant, fresh and electric! CK One Electric enlivens your senses with cooling freshness that amplifies your wild side. It makes you feel intense, alive and kinetic. It’s YOU tuned up! Available in a 6.7 oz skin to skin body.

Bath Time

Don’t scrub every day. Avoid over exfoliating by scrubbing a couple times a week. If you have sensitive skin, consider a lighter touch.

Don’t scrub after you shave. You risk stinging your skin. However, do a good scrub before you shave which will remove dead skin cells so they don’t clog up your razor.

Scrub towards your heart. This is a long time beauty secret. Start at your feet and massage the scrub in a circular motion up the legs and the torso. Continue at your fingertips and massage up the arm.

After every bath or shower, moisturize your skin. Try Michael Kors Leg Shine by Michael Kors. This women’s scent combines creamy florals with exotic spices to create a Tuberose fragrance. Modern meets classic, cool meets warm, feminine meets masculine with this one. Available only in a 2.6 oz Leg Shine-Classic. Also during your bath use Vera Wang Sheer Veil Bath & Shower Gel by Vera Wang. It’s a celebration of sheer femininity that sparkles with a touch of spontaneity and a mood that illuminates with sparkling clarity and a lightness of heart. Sheer Veil Bath and Shower Gel allows a woman’s true radiance to shine though. Available in 5.0 oz Shimmering Bath and Shower Gel.

Nails

Instead of cotton balls (which will leave fuzzies), try using a lint-free cotton pad. Saturate the cotton pad with acetone remover & rub off the old polish. If the color isn’t coming off easily, press the saturated cotton on the nail & let it soak in first. For stained nails, try rubbing whitening toothpaste on your nails. You can also rub a drop of lemon or lavender oil on each toe & rub a buffer back & forth over the nail. This will remove the yellowed outer layer.

For Feet- Fill a large flat-bottom bowl with warm water. Throw in bath salts, your favorite aromatherapy oils or Epsom Salt & let your feet soak 10 minutes. The more cracked & calloused your feet, the longer they need to stay in. Add a quarter cup of milk to your bath along with the essential oils & salts. The lactic acid in the milk loosens dead skin.

Color, of course, corresponds with your preference and personality. Check out O.P.I. nail polish. They have a brilliant selection of spicy colors for summer (South Beach 2009 Collection- See Blog) as well as light pink florals (Fairy Tale Bride Collection- See Blog) for any occasion. Tip: It’s good to paint any polish remaining on the brush over the front nail edge. This prevents chipping. After nails have dried, spritz with a moisturizing oil like Cashmere Mist Body Lotion by Donna Karan. This sets your polish & moisturizes your cuticles.

Perfume

Perfume builds self confidance and holds several great health benefits on your body. It makes you feel younger and stronger. It may even remind you of your youth! Whatever the case, a great signature fragrance allows you to glow! If you don’t have a Signature Fragrance, think about what your favorite types of scents are. How do you want to reflect your inner being? Exotic and oriental scents include amber, sandalwood and vanilla such as Ellen Tracy by Ellen Tracy. Fruity Floral notes typically include jasmine, rose, musk, violet pedals, and gardenia. (example Daisy Perfume by Marc Jacobs)

Hair Color

Are you warm or are you cool? You’re likely a “warm” if you have golden, olive or dark skin and brown or dark eyes (most Latinas, Asians and African Americans fall into this category). “Warm” women tan easily and the veins in their inner wrists are green. You’re a “cool” if you have fair skin and blue or green eyes, you burn before you tan and the veins in your wrists run blue. If you’re confused because you sometimes burn, sometimes tan, you likely skew warm.

If you have warm skin, opt for golden shades such as caramel and bronze in a darker shade than your skin. Avoid jet-black hair which will wash you out. If you are a cool shade, avoid colors such as gold, auburn or copper. They will only highlight the ruddiness of your skin tone. Ash blondes and cool browns work best.

You can’t hide that Gray! Gray hair can be stubborn to color because of its coarse texture. Many women hide their gray hair with blonde color. If you want to stick with your natural color and your hair is less than one-thirds gray, try for a semi-permanent color that’s a shade lighter than your natural color (or matches your color). The gray will blend right in.

You can also match your hair color with a great refreshing fragrance! See for yourself! (See Blog- Fragrances for Women – Match Natural Hair Color )

One should avoid plucking out grey hair! If you have grey hair and do not want to color them, keep them neatly trimmed and styled.

Quick Tips:

-Apply vitamin enriched cold cream every night on your face

-Exfoliating your skin with oatmeal before a bath rejuvenates it and keeps it firm

-Wear clothes appropriate to your age

-Keep yourself occupied with hobbies and interests that give you pleasure

Exercise like a brisk walk is advisable

-Above all, remember maturity gives dignity, charm and elegance to a person which is as good as, if not better than youthful beauty.

How to Spot Potentially Harmful Chemicals In Your Beauty Products-Makeup, Perfume and Moisturizer May Put You At Risk

Stop for a second and think about how many different beauty products you’ve used on yourself this morning. This includes, moisturizing lotion, soap, face cream, facial scrub, shampoo and conditioner, toner, foundation, powder, mascara, blush, eye shadow, gloss, lipstick, and perfume. Long list isn’t it? These products complete your daily regimen but how safe are they? Believe it or not, some personal hygiene products, moisturizers and cosmetics contain hazardous chemicals that can potentially harm your health! Yikes!

Looking good can potentially be hazardous. Many chemicals found in cosmetics have been linked to cancer, hormone imbalance, and skin irritation.
According to the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics, the average consumer (including teens) uses 15 to 25 cosmetic and personal-care products a day. These products will contain about 200 chemicals that have been added to preserve, dye and emulsify the products. Some are the same chemicals used in industrial manufacturing to soften plastics, clean equipment and stabilize pesticides.

Remember when reading labels, chemical information isn’t always disclosed. For example, phthalates (pronounced tha-lates) are rarely mentioned on labels. There

is no way to tell whether they’ve been used. Phthalates keep your mascara from running, stop your nail polish from chipping and help fragrances linger. There’s evidence that exposure to phthalates can harm the development of fetuses and children. According to the Breast Cancer Fund, hundreds of animal studies have shown that phthalates can damage the liver, kidneys, lungs and the reproductive system, primarily of male offspring.

The best way to protect yourself is to thoroughly read labels (use a magnifying glass if necessary.) Be suspicious of words like “natural” or “hypoallergenic.” They look reassuring but are meaningless. The FDA has no control over these labels. Products called “natural,” for instance, may include synthetic dyes and fragrances. “Hypoallergenic” just means that the most common irritants are left out, but other problematic chemicals might still be in the mix.

“Fragrance-free” or “unscented” means a product has no odor. Synthetic ingredients are usually added to mask these odors. Products without the word “fragrance” on their label should be un harmful to use. Cosmetics labeled “organic” must contain 70 percent or more organic ingredients (grown without the use of pesticides), but read the ingredient list carefully. It’s important to choose products from trusted cosmetic and body care companies that use natural, certified organic, nontoxic and nonsynthetic ingredients.

Chemicals to AVOID:
According to the Safe Cosmetics Campaign, avoid the following chemicals in cosmetics whenever possible:

Butyl acetate, Butylated hydroxytoluene, Coal tar, Cocamide DEA/lauramide DEA, Diazolidinyl urea, Ethyl acetate, Formaldehyde, Parabens (methyl, ethyl, propyl and butyl), Petrolatum, Phthalates, Propylene glycol, Sodium laureth/sodium laurel sulfate, Talc,Toluene, and Triethanolamine.

Other Products to Avoid:

— Anti-aging creams with lactic, glycolic, AHA and BHA acid
— Hair dyes with ammonia, peroxide, p-phenylenediamine, diaminobenzene, and/or all dark permanent hair dyes
— Liquid hand soaps with triclosan
— Nail polish and nail polish remover with formaldehyde
— Skin lighteners with hydroquinone

Now that your aware of the harmful health dangers concerning cosmetics and skin care products try a more natural organic approach to beauty. Consider The Biodynamic Collection from Eminence.

How To Apply Liquid Foundation-Beauty Tips For All Types Of Skin Tones

Foundation is a necessity when it comes to great make up application. It’s purpose is to even out skin tones and, for most of us, hide those hard to get rid of blemishes and dark spots. Applying a base of liquid foundation in the morning and setting it with foundation powder will give you flawless skin all day. Applying make up foundation doesn’t have to be a mess anymore, here are some beauty tips to help keep your skin flawless!

Step One:
Begin with using a facial cleanser and make sure your hands are clean. Applying make-up to a dirty face just cakes on your foundation and leaves your skin no room to breath. It becomes even more oily!

Step Two:
Apply Moisturizer that corresponds to your skin type. Let it sit for a couple minutes till all areas are dry. You might want to try St. Tropez Daily Moisturizer for Women. (See Blog)

Step Three:
Camouflage your dark under circles with a concealer. Try Yves Saint Laurent Aniti-Cernes Multi Action Concealer

Step Four:
Select a liquid foundation that is appropriate to your skin type. The color you choose should match your skin, disappearing when blended well. Use a makeup sponge or your fingertips to dot the liquid foundation on your cheeks, chin, forehead and tip of the nose. Now, blend the dots together with the help of your sponge or fingertips. Try Clinique Balanced Make-Up Base

Step Five:
Blend out to your hair and jawline until the foundation vanishes. Make sure they do not have an obvious line where the foundation ends. Don’t try to pull or stretch the skin. Be careful in the area around your eyes where the skin is very thin and fragile. Apply foundation on your eyelids and lips too.

Step Six:
Set the liquid foundation with loose powder immediately following application. Try using Royal & Langnickel’s Line of make up brushes for an even spread.

Tips:

1. Don’t apply foundation all over your face but only on those areas that need to be covered, such as around your eyes and nose and on your chin.

2. Try using tinted moisturizers if your complexion is dewy, and you’re really looking out for a light, sheer wash to even out the blotches.

3. For long-lasting foundation, apply a base of foundation and then moisturizer. If you don’t do this, your dry skin will soak up the foundation; and if you have oily skin, go in for an oil-free moisturizer and powder foundation.

4. On hot days, to keep your foundation in place, use a loose powder and puff in the morning and do regular touch ups throughout the day.

5. For an evening do blend together some shimmer powder with your powder and put it where it can catch the light, such as the bridge of the nose, below the brow bone, the temples, cheekbone, chin and shoulders.

6. Use foundation in combination with a sunscreen with SPF of at least 15 to prevent sun damage and early aging of the skin.
If the color of your skin changes, change your foundation shade.

7. Once you finish applying foundation, stand near a window to see if it looks natural.

Applying Foundation has never been so easy!
